A Guide Dog Visit
At our Farmoor setting, some of the children recently had new pets join their family, this prompted a lot of conversation. We were very fortunate to be able to arrange a visit from Guide Dogs UK.
In July, Velvet, Florence and Monty came to visit with their handler’s Yvonne and Terry. Yvonne talked to the children about the ways Velvet helps her move around safely.
The children enjoyed meeting and stroking the dogs and also asked some great questions such as, “How do they communicate?” and “What do they eat?”
We were able to raise some money selling our gingerbread cookies to say thank you for a lovely visit. What an amazing experience.
