A Real Life Fireman Sam

On a very wet Tuesday afternoon Bletchingdon Nursery had a visit from Chris and his team from Kidlington Fire Station. The children were so excited to see a huge fire engine pulling into the car park with its blue lights flashing.

As some children chose to watch from afar, others were keen to get stuck in, exploring the different parts of the fire engine. They were able to sit in the cab, try on Fireman Sam’s helmet (yes, that was his real name!), and even have a had a go at knocking down a cone with the Attack Hose- so much fun.

The firefighters told us lots about the engine, showing us where the water was stored and pulling down the ladders from the top so we could see how tall they were.

Thank you so much to Chris, Sam, Jeff and Jeff at Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue for letting us experience a fire engine up close. We had a great time!
