All The Seasons in November

It is no secret that, at Willow Cottage, we like to get out and about. No matter the weather, we are always prepared for spending time outdoors.

The month of November has certainly tested our preparedness, having given us almost all the different types of weather in one month. From floods and rain, to ice, to balmy sunshine. Probably the most exciting though was the recent day of snow.

For many children this was their first time experiencing a good snowfall and it received mixed reactions.

Whilst it didn’t last too long we were still able to enjoy many different kinds of snow themed activities.

Below are some of the things the children at our Bletchingdon setting were able to experience.

The Cubs thoroughly enjoyed playing in the snow. We’ve been sliding down the hill on our bottoms, making snowballs, and experiencing the cold texture. We watched as our footprints made marks on the grass, it was so exciting to shake the trees and watch the snow fall to the ground.

The children in Badgers helped decorate a snowman that they named ‘Mr Pokey’!

The children at Forest School this week were able to warm up with a cup of hot chocolate after their fun, but very chilly, time in the field.

Winter can be tough to navigate when little hands, feet, and faces get cold so quickly. But we dressed up warmly and didn’t stay outside for too long and were able to enjoy our frosty experiences. Thank you team Bletchingdon!
