Bletchingdon Nursery’s 6th Birthday

This time, 6 years ago, after months of renovation work, we were finally able to open the doors of Bletchingdon Nursery to welcome our first child.

Sam, Alison, Megan and Jess were the first members of the Bletchingdon team and we are so proud to say all four of that initial team continue their amazing work at Willow Cottage. The first month was a whirlwind of settling in sessions, cooking and getting to know the new setting and meeting many new wonderful children and their families.

Today we celebrated Bletchingdon’s 6th birthday with a special tea. Unfortunately our picnic wasn’t able to happen outside, for the first time in 6 years, but we had a very lovely tea inside instead.

The children in the Nature Classrooms made their own sandwiches, carefully choosing the colour of the bread and the fillings and they concentrated especially hard on cutting their sandwiches into their desired shapes with the knife.

Hedgehogs and Squirrels had sandwiches shaped like their family groups which was so funny.

To finish off the celebrations we sang happy birthday to Bletchingdon, which some children found a little confusing, but we certainly enjoyed the chocolate bread which we had instead of cake. Yum.
