Mental Health Awareness Week 2022 at Willow Cottage

Supporting our teams, children and families with their mental health is something that we are passionate about. Mental Health Awareness Week 2022 gives us a wonderful opportunity to draw attention to some of the areas we can support each other throughout the entire year.

Today our Bletchingdon and Farmoor settings have been participating in Wear it Green Day.

This week, we have been raising awareness with a daily eNewsletter, signposting to available support services as well as some uplifting stories and encouraging quotes. We have put up display boards in the staff rooms with useful information on ways to rest, mindfulness and useful contacts. There has also been fruit platters and treats in the staff rooms as a little encouragement.

Our Bletchingdon setting had a fantastic team meeting on Tuesday, with a relaxation and meditation session led by our Lisa from Farmoor Court office. It was so great to hear all her views and thoughts, we’ve had some lovely feedback from those who attended. Thank you for giving up some of your time to come over Lisa, it was very appreciated.

The children have been engaging in activities around our emotions. Below is a sensory tray with different facial expressions. We’ve read books about our emotions and engaged in discussions in our circle times.

At Eynsham the team set up a wonderful coffee station for the parents to access as they dropped their children off at nursery and we had a lovely mention on Instagram from an appreciative parent. Thank you for the engagement!

Thank you to all who have participated and contributed. Every single one of you is appreciated.
