Willow Cottage Charities 2018-19

Following on from the success of last year’s fundraising in support of three charities, Willow Cottage has decided to support three more charities over the next school year.

Each charity is of personal significance to Willow Cottage and was decided upon by casting votes by staff across all three settings.

The three charities we have chosen are;

• See Saw – Grief support for children and young people in Oxfordshire when a parent or sibling has died.
• Helen House – who provide hospice care to help terminally ill babies, children, and young people and support for their families.
• SANDS – (Stillbirth and neonatal death charity) Operating throughout the UK, supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby, working to improve the care bereaved parents receive, and promoting research to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.

At nursery, we will be talking about what charity means and how we will be raising money for people who need a bit of help. This means that whenever we have a charity event, any money raised will be shared equally between the three charities. For more information please follow the links above.

We plan to have a number of fundraising days throughout the year, which will vary from setting to setting. Your child’s nursery will contact you in advance of their fundraising events.
