Willow Cottage Nurseries Celebrate Bonfire Night!
This week, we celebrated Bonfire Night.

At Eynsham we had a day of themed activities.
The day started with creative fun, including firework painting and the Sun Bears baking delicious pumpkin-shaped biscuits. 🎃
In the afternoon, the Sun Bears, Grizzlies, and Pandas gathered in the garden to cosy up by the bonfire. We enjoyed hot chocolate and our homemade biscuits, learned all about fire safety from our Forest School leader, Sarah, and read the story of Guy Fawkes. We even made up our own song: “The fireworks go bang bang bang!” 🎶
To top off a perfect evening, the Pandas stayed for a special pizza tea watching the fire! 🍕

A Bonfire Night to Remember at Bletchingdon!
We all thoroughly enjoyed our Firework Night at Bletchingdon on Wednesday, 5th November. Everyone bundled up warmly in their waterproof suits and wellies to brave the damp weather.

For tea, the Foxes and Badgers had hotdogs with homemade ketchup and rocket fruit kebabs in the nature garden. The Cubs also enjoyed rocket fruit kebabs before joining us all in the field.
A special highlight for the Badgers and Foxes was being invited to toast pineapple slices over the burner with Claire and Sally. We were so impressed with how well everyone followed the instructions, carefully holding the pineapple over the flame and not touching the burner. Great job! When the slices were ready, we all got to eat them—they were so yummy.

Later in the evening, Alison lit our bonfire. Then it was time for the fireworks, which went “snap, crackle, and pop!” Some of us watched up close while others enjoyed the colours from the hill, but we all agreed it was a fantastic display.

Our Farmoor setting had a wonderfully busy time celebrating Bonfire Night!
Throughout the week, we created our own bonfire pictures in many different ways and enjoyed lots of different bonfire and firework-themed activities.

On Friday morning, we enjoyed toasted pineapple in the Orchard, listening carefully to the instructions given by our teachers to make sure we kept ourselves safe.
Later, we enjoyed a special tea of yummy hot dogs with homemade bread rolls and a muffin, all prepared by Ciprian. We then made our way over to the field for a warm hot chocolate and watched as Alison lit the fire.

Once it started to get dark, Alison lit the fireworks. We watched them with our teachers and all the mummies, daddies, and grandparents who joined us. It was the perfect end to a wonderful week of celebrations and fun!
