Winter Fun Food

Our interactions with food have continued into the winter months at all 3 settings, through cooking, baking, crafting and painting to name a few.

At Farmoor the children have had an extended interest in exploring citrus fruits. One invitation to play involved dried slices of fruit alongside playdough we loved seeing the differences in the dried and fresh fruits incorporating them into our playdough play.

We had masses of fun in Hedgehogs at Bletchingdon with vegetables and paint and patterns. Exploring the textures and prints we could make with all the seasonal vegetables.

At Eynsham, the Ladybirds have been making bird feeders with a mixture of lard, oats and raisins which they stuck into pine cones. It was so slimy and slippery which was lots of fun and will keep the birds well fed in the cold.
