Farmoor Nursery School

These spacious premises are purpose built in 3 acres of grounds between the villages of Farmoor and Cumnor. It was carefully selected to provide children with a safe, healthy and natural environment in which to develop and grow. Situated in open countryside, close to Oxford with very easy access from the Ring Road, the A420 and the A40.

Departments

The children at Farmoor are split between two family groups and will be assigned to either Lions or Tigers when they join us.

The inside space is split into three areas. In the centre, sitting at the heart of the building, are the Cubs rooms. These form the base for the very youngest children; here, they can find their feet, become familiar with their key carer, and gain confidence in nursery life.

When the children are ready to explore beyond Cubs, they will spend more and more time with their family group, eventually becoming based in these rooms, which are situated on either side of Cubs.

Within the family groups, children can access different spaces and experiences as they get older to continue their learning journey before going on to school. Here, they explore new experiences and concepts whilst also embedding the skills and dispositions that promote a lifelong love of curiosity and learning.

All three spaces have direct access to the outside, enabling the children to free-flow between inside and out for large parts of the day. Cubs have their own dedicated garden, whilst Tigers and Lions share three extensive outside play spaces. Between their main garden, a shady orchard, and a large open field, there is plenty of space to run, explore, and enjoy nature.
