Willow Cottage Nurseries is recruiting a passionate and inspirational Manager for our Eynsham setting. This post has been made available following the retirement and creates a rare and exciting opportunity at one of our amazing family-run nurseries across the west of Oxfordshire.

A Willow Cottage Manager needs to be:

  • an enthusiastic, energetic and dedicated individual
  • able to demonstrate a genuine passion for providing the highest standards of Early Years provision.
  • a leader who is able to inspire and support their team
  • a team player who can work collaboratively with the Strategic Management Team and the other setting managers

As a Willow Cottage Manager you will need to have:

  • a minimum Level 3 or equivalent full and relevant qualification
  • a robust understanding of safeguarding children
  • an up-to-date knowledge of the current EYFS and EYIF
  • 4 years’ experience working in a nursery setting
  • your own transport to travel between settings
  • evidence of how you have reflected on your own practice in the past and  a desire to continue your own CPD.

The role of a Willow Cottage Manager will include:

  • the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the setting, putting the welfare and safety of the children above all else
  • taking responsibility for the efficient day to day running of the nursery and overall delivery of a high-quality service
  • ensuring the safety, security, happiness and well-being of all children registered with the nursery
  • continuously monitoring the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • ensuring the nursery complies with all relevant legal, statutory regulations and frameworks
  • working in partnership with support from a strong and local strategic management team
  • taking a lead in the enquiry process to ensure occupancy and staffing levels are well maintained in our 70 place nursery
  • ensuring that financial and administrative information required for billing parents and claiming funding is providing in an efficient and timely manner
  • working with other professionals in the local area for the benefit of children and families
  • taking a part in the recruitment of staff, inductions, including the oversight and development of our valued apprentices
  • carrying out, updating and reviewing written and visual risk assessments
  • taking a part in recruitment of staff; inductions; plus oversight and development of apprentices
  • being proactive and use initiative to make sure training requirements are being completed in a timely manner. 
  • being a role model of integrity, reliability and professionalism
  • demonstrating the initiative to work alone and an  ability to write reports and keep clear and accurate records
  • role modelling of good language skills with both children and parents
  • undertaking any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the nursery aims and objectives

SalaryCompetitive Salary, subject to experience and qualifications.
Contract40 Hours, Full-time permanent.  Flexible Rota  
Qualified toA full and relevant Early Years Level 3 qualification or above
Experience4 years in Early Years and at least 2 years as part of a management team
