School Leavers 2021

Each year the time comes where, with pride and a little tear in our eye, we have to say goodbye to the children who are starting school in September. For many families we have had the pleasure of caring for their child for over three years. For some families with siblings we have been a part of their lives for many more years indeed.

Our Bletchingdon, Eynsham and Farmoor settings each had their school leavers celebration in either July or August. An occasion that is always thoroughly enjoyed and cherished by children, parents and staff alike. This year was made all the more special by being able to host a party at all. We were all finally able to get together and enjoy, with our families, the amazing outdoor resources and spaces the children have been experiencing every day.

Kay, one of our Eynsham parents sent us a lovely message saying; “Our child has had the most WONDERFUL start in life with you all at Willow Cottage, and we really can’t thank you enough for the care, support, encouragement, teaching and kindness you have offered him. He will go off to school with confidence and a whole range of valuable life skills now. Thanks again, a million times over, for all you’ve done to care for our child since he was 10 months old. He couldn’t have spent time with better people and he has loved being there.”

Louisa, one of our parent’s at Farmoor said, “Our child was very excited and more than a little sad to be leaving Willow Cottage today. It was lovely to say goodbye and thank you to her friends and the staff in (her) bubble this afternoon. She loved the booklet and gift they gave her to say goodbye- it will be a wonderful keepsake for her to look back on all her happy days at nursery.”

Our children and parents were able to celebrate together and play with their friends, some of which they hadn’t been able to play with since the bubble system had begun. At times it felt very emotional.

We are so proud of all of our children and the school leavers make us especially proud. They are confident, well rounded, kind, helpful, generous, funny and courteous little people who have achieved so much despite everything that has happened in the world over the last 18 months.

As you go on to your next adventure we wish you lots of fun and laughter and a continued joy in learning new things. Go forward bravely knowing how much we have enjoyed watching you grow and know that Willow Cottage will just not be the same without you.
